Body Image

Have you ever looked at yourself in the mirror and said, "If I could change this, get rid of that, and add a little here, I would be happy."? If so, you find yourself among, well everyone. We are a product of a generation that is very aware of our bodies. It would be common for a "preacher" to immediately condemn this behavior. The reality, is our body is a temple, a creation of God. When we honor our bodies, we honor God. Obsession, may be a different story, but looking into a mirror can be a helpful tool. Seeing ourselves the way we are reveals a lot. Too often we close our eyes to what we see. Too often we try to never look. But looking at ourselves, introspectively, can lead to valuable realizations of what we need to work on. The problem is not that we evaluate our bodies, the problem is we neglect to evaluate the fit-ness of our spirits at the same time.

Creation

God created us as thing of beauty. From our head to our toes "God saw it was good." Throughout history there have many debates over keeping both body and soul beautiful, much of the time at a cost to one or the other. The concept of dualism separated the two. Modern religion focuses on soul. Modern health, fitness and medicine focus on body. In this blog I strive to connect the two. The claim I offer is that God created every part of us to be enjoyed and to celebrate God's goodness.
